I bought a ring a while back from a jeweler, who said that the yellow stone was a crystal Citrine. How can you determine between a crystal and glass? I'm wondering if it's just a fake. If this "stone" is actually just glass. Anyways to check???

If you bought it for healing properties http://www.psychics.co.uk/crystals/citrine.html not much point in chasing it down and probably cost too much because citrine is just colored quartz which doesn't cost much. Is the jeweler reliable? The difference between glass, which is amorphous, and quartz, which is crystalline, can be determined by xray diffusion, but as I said, probably too costly. There is a chance that a jeweler or someone else with a microscope could look into the stone and see the cleavage lines of a crystal and show them to you - or the shape of the flaws.
